April First!

But this is no joke! Last weekend we signed locally reformed LV band The Unknown Söldiers. They've been around this scene since 2005 but have been inactive for three years. But in getting back together they got wind of us and decided to sign. They're recording a debut single, and are currently writing some amazing music and lyrics to an upcoming album. The single, along with a TPFC album in the works since January will be the main focus in the weeks to come. The Weathermen are recording next weekend and the rest of our roster, Fool on the Planet, My Gym Teacher Is A Conservative Democrat, and Provemewrong especially are all working hard on writing and composing. We may also sign a local indie band on for a one record deal, since we offered to produce their demo. We may also be signing another one-man Breakcore type deal so that'd be nice.

Another band!

We have added another band to our 2010 roster! They are Fool On The Earth from LV, KS. They play a light, emotional style of Indie-Punk much in the style of The Pillows meets Sigur Ros. we are delighted to have them, and they are already working on (writing and composing) their first EP 'Cocaine Daddy', so we hope to release that soon!

March 25 - Update!

It is now Thursday, March 25. And BFR has some good news! This week we have added two more artists to our 2010 roster. They are.... From LV, KS, The Hammer Party a half Big Black tribute band, and half original post-punk noise rock. And the other, from LV, KS, Ghostbuster(s) (they may have to change the name) an incredibly original return to 1970's No Wave punk movement. We are proud to have them on, and wish them the best of luck. And the second big announcement, BFR is releasing a tribute album to President Obama and his historical healthcare reform. The album will contain all new original songs by all BFR artists. More info on the release soon. Thank you much!

A Little Bit About Us

Hello! This is the first post on the Blind Fish Records Official Blog. I'm sure you want to get to know us a little bit... Blind Fish Records was the brainchild of me (Ben) and my buddy Chris back in January 2008 when we first started recording noise music. We needed a label to umbrella us and no one would sign, so we made our own. We are based in the middle of musical nowhere: Leavenworth, Kansas. The label is starting out small but going to be bigger soon. We have a MySpace, ReverbNation, and now a Blogger account! This was a great idea and I have no clue why I didn't this sooner.

Blind Fish Records is a recording collective based in Leavenworth, Kansas and based out of one main studio, and one side studio. Ben does the production, and graphic design for all signed bands; unless they decide otherwise, therefore the label has a very liberal policy when it comes to bands, we let them choose producer, designer, studio, etc. Blind Fish has nearly every genre signed - Experimental Metal, Gabber/Breakcore, Noise, Jazz, Singer/Songwriter, Avant-Garde, Rap, Punk, Crust/Grindcore, and Indie Pop. The Blind Fish Records roster for 2010 is as follows:
